The ECF Energy Technology Innovation Award 2026 is now officially open for global submissions!

    Established in 2016 by the Shanghai United Institute for Unconventional Resources (SUI) and the Coordinating Committee for Geoscience Programmes in East and Southeast Asia (CCOP), the ECF Award is one of the most recognized honors in the field of unconventional energy technology innovation. It celebrates groundbreaking advancements and impactful applications across the full spectrum of shale gas, tight oil, coalbed methane, and emerging clean energy solutions.

Award Categories

• Technological Invention Award
       For original breakthroughs with independent IP and critical technical value.
       Prizes: Gold, Silver, Bronze

• Scientific and Technological Progress Award
       For mature, widely deployed technologies with strong industrial or societal impact.
       Prizes: Gold, Silver, Bronze

• Technological Improvement Award
       For practical innovations and small-scale solutions with real-world value.
       Prizes: Honorary (non-ranked)

 Key Dates

• Submission Deadline: August 31, 2026

• Final Review & On-site Defense: Early October 2026

• Award Ceremony: October 20–23, 2026 at the ECF 2026 Conference in Shanghai

How to Apply

Applicants must submit:

1. A completed Application Form

2. Required supporting documents (IP, performance data, evaluations, etc.)

3. One electronic submission via email, and two hard copies via post

Who Can Apply?

We welcome submissions from:

• Energy companies (state-owned, private, international)

• Research institutes and universities

• Startups and SMEs

• Cross-disciplinary innovators

Projects must demonstrate implementation or readiness, and must have been initiated between January 1, 2023 – August 31, 2026.

Global Recognition & Media Exposure

Winning technologies will be honored at the ECF 2026 Conference, featured on Energy China Forum and CCOP platforms (in both English and Chinese), and promoted across industry media, publications, and partnership channels.
