Shale gas well in SW China sees record high output

A well in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality has produced more than 300 million cubic meters of shale gas after 2,231 days of use, a record high number, its developer Sinopec said Friday. It is estimated that 300 million cubic meters of shale gas is equivalent to a year's gas consumption for a city with a population of 4.8 million. The well is located in Fuling, China's largest shale gas field. For now, the daily output of the well remains at 65,000 cubic meters, said the company. As of Nov. 8, Fuling shale gas field had put 421 wells into production and yielded more than 26 billion cubic m

China Will Have Enough Natural Gas This Winter to Meet Demand: Officials

China’s supply and demand for natural gas are expected to be balanced during this year’s winter heating season, following two years of breakneck demand growth for the cleaner-burning fuel as Beijing worked to improve air quality by lowering reliance on coal.Industry officials gave their assessment at a conference on Friday as growth in demand for natural gas slows sharply this year, falling into single digits from the previous double-digit range. The slowing demand growth comes as many homes and businesses have converted to other power sources, helping to improve air quality during the winter

I. Shale GasStandard: National Standard GB/T31483-2015 "Shale gas geological evaluation method", issued by the General Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Committee of China in May 2015.Definition: The shale gas is mainly composed of free or adsorption state natural gas in the organic-rich shale interval. The main body is self-generated and self-storing, large-area continuous natural gas accumulation. Under overburden conditions, the shale matrix permeability is generally less than or equal to 0.001 mD. Single well generally has no natural production capacity, requirin

Analysis: China Oct gas imports down 10% on GDP, industry, Rudong LNG

China's natural gas imports, comprising LNG and pipeline gas, in October declined 10.3% year on year to 6.52 million mt, or 9 Bcm, the latest data from the General Administration of Customs showed, a significant reversal from growth rates of around 27% in recent years.Domestic sources attributed lower October imports to the economic slowdown, a long shutdown at PetroChina's Rudong LNG terminal, the relaxation of China's coal-to-gas switching policies, and stricter emission restrictions and lower industrial activity during the country's National Day holidays in early October.October is typicall
