At the unveiling ceremony, Wang Xue announced the official approval to designate the Human Resources Service Center of Shunan Gas Field as the Shale Gas Training Base of PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gasfield Company. In his speech, Du Qiang emphasized that southern Sichuan is the birthplace of shale gas in China, and Shunan Gas Field has accumulated strong technical expertise and experience through long-term practice. He stated that the training base will be carefully built and operated to serve as a hub for talent cultivation, a center for technological innovation, and a platform for industry exchange, contributing to increased shale gas reserves and production as well as enhancing the company’s influence in the industry. The unveiling was jointly conducted by Wang Xue and Du Qiang, witnessed by representatives from 17 research institutions, peer organizations, and universities.

During the seminar, experts and scholars delivered presentations on five key topics: progress in shale gas exploration and development at Shunan Gas Field; technologies and applications for secondary development of unconventional oil and gas; integrated geology-engineering theories and technologies for shale gas in the Sichuan super gas-bearing basin; advancements in drainage and gas production technologies for shale gas both domestically and internationally; and logging interpretation and evaluation technologies for shale gas in southern Sichuan. Representatives from various organizations and universities also shared insights, engaging in in-depth discussions on technological innovation achievements, key bottlenecks, and industry development trends.

In his concluding remarks, Du Qiang invited universities, industry experts, and professional institutions to deepen cooperation by leveraging the training base to jointly build research and application platforms, talent internship bases, and collaboration mechanisms.
