Participants included Ma Yongzheng, Director of the CCOP Technical Secretariat; Songyang Wu, Regional Expert; Marivic Pulvera Uzarraga, Manager of Project Operation and Information; Zhou Xiaolai, Founder and President of ECF and President of the Shanghai United Institute for Unconventional Resources (SUI); and Xiao Shaw Zhang, President of ECF.
The two sides reviewed cooperation dating back to 2014, when CCOP began participating in ECF’s annual conference in Shanghai. They also discussed the ECF Energy Technology Innovation Award, launched jointly in 2016 as part of their broader cooperation in technical exchange and industry dialogue.
The meeting took place as energy cooperation across Asia-Pacific continues to evolve beyond conventional oil and gas, with growing attention to areas such as unconventional resources, technology transfer, digital applications and cross-border collaboration.
Founded in 2011, ECF is an Shanghai-based industry platform focused on unconventional oil and gas and broader emerging areas of unconventional energy. Through conferences, research and industry collaboration, it promotes dialogue, technical exchange and sector development.
CCOP is an intergovernmental organization committed to geoscience cooperation in East and Southeast Asia. It works with member countries on regional resource, energy and geological programs and has long supported technical cooperation across the region.
Both sides look forward to continued communication and further cooperation.
