Xinjiang Oilfield Secures Patent for Intelligent Fracturing Analysis

On December 15, the intelligent fracturing technology R&D team of the Oil Production Technology Research Institute (Supervision Company) of Xinjiang Oilfield was officially granted an invention patent by the China National Intellectual Property Administration for its invention titled “A Comprehensive Analysis Method for Key Fracturing Data Control Factors Oriented to Production.”

As the first authorized invention patent in the RDC intelligent fracturing field, the patent marks a major breakthrough by Xinjiang Oilfield in the independent R&D of key technologies for the digital and intelligent transformation of fracturing, providing strong methodological support for intelligent optimization of fracturing design.

The intelligent fracturing team of the institute has planned a top-level framework for the digital and intelligent transformation of fracturing at Xinjiang Oilfield, covering seven major modules: fracturing data governance, intelligent design optimization, remote fracturing monitoring, real-time construction decision-making, intelligent performance evaluation, an intelligent fracturing platform, and a reservoir stimulation platform. This patent represents a core achievement under the “intelligent design optimization” module of the framework.

Addressing industry-wide challenges such as single-factor analysis methods and difficulties in integrating results from multiple schemes for decision-making, the invention innovatively introduces fuzzy mathematics to integrate multiple evaluation results into a weighted evaluation matrix, enabling systematic comprehensive evaluation and ranking of geological and engineering parameters. At the same time, the patent integrates an efficient data governance approach, using KNN nearest-neighbor prediction to fill missing data and encoding conversion to support analysis of categorical parameters, significantly improving the quality and usability of large-scale fracturing data and providing a more comprehensive and reliable data foundation for key control factor analysis.

The patented technology has been applied and verified in blocks such as Mahu and Jimusar, effectively supporting fracturing scheme optimization and production forecasting, and providing a scientific basis for improving fracturing efficiency, economic benefits, and long-term stable production at oilfields. The patent authorization not only enhances the technological competitiveness of the oilfield company in unconventional oil and gas development, but also lays a solid foundation for advancing fracturing operations toward greater intelligence and refinement. Going forward, RDC will continue to focus on the seven modules of fracturing digital-intelligent transformation, accelerate breakthroughs in key core technologies and result commercialization, and support oil and gas production growth and efficient development.
