Expert Review Comments:

The key contribution is a closer connection between identifying remaining oil and selecting effective stimulation targets. Predictions constrained by flow physics and changing injection–production conditions are combined with flexible, modular coring that preserves in-situ conditions and coordinated perforation–fracturing design. This links reservoir interpretation, physical measurements and engineering intervention. The approach strengthens the basis for target selection, improves coring adaptability in highly curved wellbores and focuses fracture placement on remaining-oil accumulations. With application experience in associated tools and stimulation methods, it offers a promising technology combination for low-producing and shut-in wells, helping mature fields access remaining resources through existing well networks.

Main Innovations:

To address challenges in identifying remaining oil, preserving core integrity and in-situ conditions, and establishing effective fracture connectivity in mature oilfields, the project develops a deep generative prediction method integrating time-varying well controls with flow physics constraints for rapid prediction of remaining oil distribution. A flexible, modular continuous coring tool incorporates differential core severing, coordinated ball-valve operation, and independent temperature and pressure compensation for each core barrel, enabling continuous sealed coring with in-situ condition preservation in high-curvature wellbores. An electric drilling–fracturing optimization method constrained by heterogeneous rock mechanics, together with precision electric perforating tools and an intelligent decision-making platform, coordinates targeted hole placement and differentiated fracture design, forming an integrated approach to prediction, evaluation, and stimulation for remaining oil recovery.

Main Uses and Technical Principles:

This technology identifies remaining oil accumulations and enhances production through targeted hydraulic fracturing in mature oilfields. It serves low-producing wells, shut-in wells, and wells with casing damage suitable for reuse, enabling effective recovery of remaining oil and restoration of well productivity. By integrating geological parameters with time-varying injection and production data, a flow-physics-constrained deep generative model rapidly predicts remaining oil distribution and identifies stimulation targets. Flexible continuous coring, sealed preservation, and intelligent temperature and pressure compensation preserve cores for evaluating reservoir petrophysical and geomechanical properties. Remaining oil distribution and measured core properties are then used to jointly optimize perforation locations, fracture placement, and treatment parameters, guiding fractures to effectively connect target accumulations. Together, these technologies form an integrated production enhancement system combining efficient identification, evaluation using preserved cores, and targeted stimulation.
