In recent years, the Exploration Company of China Coal No. 1 Engineering Bureau has actively implemented the Bureau’s “One Core, Four Pillars, Two Growth Areas” industrial development strategy, accelerating the advancement of strategic clean energy—coalbed methane (CBM). The company has reported frequent breakthroughs in its CBM business.

Following its recent successful bid for the deep CBM exploration drilling project in the Tucheng Syncline of Panzhou City, Guizhou Province, the company’s Ningxia project also received a letter of commendation from the client, marking a dual achievement in both market expansion and project execution. This fully demonstrates its strong technical capability and sustainable development strength in the CBM exploration and development field.

Winning the bid for the CBM drilling project in Panzhou’s Tucheng Syncline symbolizes a major step forward in the company’s regional market expansion. From Ningxia in the northwest to Guizhou in the southwest, the company is steadily advancing its national CBM business layout.

During the implementation of the Ningxia CBM project, the Exploration Company earned high recognition from the project owner for its solid technical expertise and rigorous organizational management. In the commendation letter, the client noted that the company strictly adhered to safety standards, maintained tight control over engineering quality, and ensured the efficient and high-quality completion of all drilling tasks for the year. Since 2025, the project team has rigorously enforced equipment and personnel access management, conducted pre-spud inspections before each drilling operation, and strengthened full-cycle quality and safety controls. Throughout the year, they successfully completed nine high-quality wells with a total footage of approximately 14,000 meters.

Despite geological challenges such as steep formation dips and complex, variable coal seams, the project team demonstrated strong professional technical capability. Their management practices and operational efficiency continued to improve, setting multiple new records for daily drilling footage, reaching up to 500 meters in a single day. The team also worked closely with the client to optimize resource allocation and drilling parameters, effectively enhancing speed and efficiency and ensuring the successful completion of the client’s annual objectives.

These achievements highlight the company’s rich experience and unique technical strengths in deep CBM drilling and complex geological operations, strengthening its core competitiveness and laying a solid foundation for the company’s “100-Day Campaign” and its push toward annual business targets.
