Recently, the gas-bearing formation testing project of the Chuanzhao Ye 1 Well, organized and implemented by the Chengdu Geological Survey Center of the China Geological Survey, was successfully launched in Chengbei Town, Zhaojue County, Sichuan Province.

The Chuanzhao Ye 1 formation testing project targets the first section of the Baiguowan Formation’s tight sandstone reservoir. It follows earlier drilling results that led to significant shale gas–tight gas discoveries and a successful ignition test breakthrough. The objective of this testing and production project is to obtain industrial gas flow from new formations and new areas, providing technical and geological support for proposing exploration block layouts in the Xichang Basin. The project aims to fill the commercial development gap in the basin, support the construction of the Southwestern Sichuan–Eastern Yunnan oil and gas resource replacement base, and contribute to consolidating poverty alleviation achievements in Zhaojue County.

The anticipated results will provide vital data for China’s new round of strategic mineral exploration breakthroughs, support local economic growth in ethnic minority regions, and contribute to rural revitalization.
