Daqing Pioneers Wide-Area Tracer Logging

Recently, the Testing Technology Services Branch of Daqing Oilfield has successfully developed China's first wide-area tracer logging technology, marking a significant leap in both precision and efficiency for water injection monitoring.

This innovative technique can accurately identify water-absorbing layers as thin as 0.2 meters with a daily water injection volume of just 0.3 cubic meters. It has improved testing efficiency by 45% while reducing isotope usage by 83%, making it highly applicable to complex conditions in high water-cut oilfields.

To date, 215 well tests have been completed with a 100% success rate, providing strong data support for the refined development of oilfields.

Breakthrough Sand Control Tech from Dagang

Dagang Oilfield has recently achieved a breakthrough by successfully applying China’s first “pressure-retaining sand control” technology. This was demonstrated at Well GX34-13-20, where zero pressure release operations were accomplished for the first time in a high-pressure well.

The new approach—“pressure as prevention”—uses a specially designed tubing structure to safely and efficiently perform sand control without pressure release, resulting in shorter operation cycles and a 30% reduction in costs.

Currently, the well produces 7.3 tons of oil per day, and by the end of the year, four wells are expected to add 20 tons of daily oil output, offering a new solution for managing sand-producing high-pressure wells.

CNLC Unlocks CBM with Precision Logging

Recently, CNLC (China National Logging Corporation) achieved a major breakthrough in the Baicheng CBM demonstration project in Xinjiang by deploying its self-developed CPLog logging system.

The system can detect micro-fractures as small as 0.2 meters and accurately evaluate reservoir quality. It completed operations on three wells within 72 hours, improving operational efficiency by 15%.

Once in production, the project is expected to yield 6.72 million cubic meters of CBM annually, enough to meet the gas needs of 900 households, and reduce 14,500 tons of CO₂ emissions per year—injecting fresh momentum into green and low-carbon development.
