Daqing EOR Innovation On July 10, 2025, Daqing Oilfield entered the late stage of high water cut development and launched its first field trial of chloride-free, carbonless ternary compound flooding technology, overcoming traditional bottlenecks in enhanced oil recovery. It is expected to increase oil recovery efficiency by over 19%, potentially raising the ultimate recovery factor to 70%. This innovation provides a new green technical solution for mature fields, contributing to both enhanced output and low-carbon development goals. Cutting Carbon High In the first half of 2025, Qinghai Oilfield achieved 63% of its annual energy-saving target, making solid progress in reducing carbon emissions and protecting the fragile ecosystem of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The oilfield focused on green transformation through clean energy substitution, boiler upgrades, and waste heat recovery. These efforts replaced 9,000 tons of fuel and reduced carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 24,000 tons. Keywords: Energy Saving, Clean Substitution, Qinghai Oilfield
Deep Energy Breakthrough On July 16, 2025, CNOOC announced a major breakthrough in deep formation exploration in the South China Sea, marking its first success in metamorphic sandstone and basement buried hill zones. The WZ10-5S-2d well reached a depth of 3362 meters and recorded daily outputs of 400 barrels of crude oil and 16.5 million cubic feet of natural gas, demonstrating the significant resource potential of the region.
