On January 8th, the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources announced a series of major breakthroughs in lithium exploration in China, with lithium reserves increasing from 6% globally to 16.5%, jumping from sixth to second in the world and reshaping the global lithium resource landscape.

【The construction of the first tight oil fracturing platform in Shunqing Oilfield has been completed】
On December 31, 2024, with the instruction to stop 21 fracturing trucks, the Nanchong 002-S platform, which was renovated by the Fracturing and Acidizing Team 3 of Chuanqing Downhole Operation Company, was successfully completed, marking the successful completion of the first tight oil fracturing platform in Shunqing Oilfield, Southwest Oil and Gas Field.
【Significant progress has been made in the large-scale development of coal, rock and gas by PetroChina】
As of December 29th, China Petroleum's coal and rock gas production in 2024 has exceeded 2.3 billion cubic meters, an increase of 130% compared to the same period last year, and significant progress has been made in the large-scale development of coal and rock gas.

【Deep oil and gas exploration and development technology in Southwest oil and gas fields】
The Pengshen 6 well desulfurization station adopts the CT Redox complex iron desulfurization process independently developed by the Southwest Oil and Gas Field Natural Gas Research Institute. Since its successful commissioning on October 22, 2024, it has gradually increased production to full load and stable operation. As of January 6, 2025, the highest pressure chelated iron desulfurization device in China, the Pengshen 6 well desulfurization station, has processed nearly 10 million cubic meters of natural gas.

The new issue of "Chinese Talents" in January 2025 was released, which comprehensively reported on Professor Jiang Guancheng from China University of Petroleum (Beijing) in the section of "Science and Technology Power". For the first time, biomimetics was introduced into the field of drilling fluid, creating the theory and technology of biomimetic drilling fluid. The application effect on a large scale at home and abroad has been significant, winning one second prize for national technological invention (ranked first in 2016) and four first prizes for ministerial level scientific and technological achievements (all ranked first in 2011 and 2015).
