Fuling shale gas field cumulative production exceeds 70 billion cubic meters
The first commercially developed large-scale shale gas field in China, the Fuling shale gas field, has produced over 70 billion cubic meters of shale gas since its launch. At present, the daily gas production of this gas field exceeds 20 million cubic meters, continuously delivering green and clean energy to over 200 million residents in more than 70 cities along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, contributing positively to ensuring national energy security and helping to achieve the "dual carbon" goals.
The Fuling shale gas field is located in Fuling, Nanchuan, Wulong and other districts and counties in Chongqing. It achieved a major exploration breakthrough at the end of 2012 and was put into commercial development in March 2014. In 2017, it was completed on schedule with an annual production capacity of 10 billion cubic meters. At present, the Fuling shale gas field has accumulated proven geological reserves of nearly 900 billion cubic meters of shale gas, maintaining multiple records such as the highest cumulative production of a single shale gas field and the highest cumulative production of a single well in China. It has maintained stable production of over 8 billion cubic meters for several consecutive years, accounting for about one-third of China's annual shale gas production. It is of great significance for promoting energy structure adjustment and alleviating the supply pressure of natural gas markets in central and eastern China. The Fuling shale gas field has also innovatively formed six core technology systems for efficient shale gas development, formulated 176 shale gas exploration and development standards and specifications, obtained 404 national patent authorizations, and achieved 100% localization of key development technologies.
