To promote the application of artificial intelligence in unconventional oil and gas exploration 

and development, as well as digital twins for energy equipment, ECF2025 introduces the 

"AI for Unconventional Oil & Gas Challenge" as a new platform under the Annual Innovation

 Technology Showcase Program, highlighting the latest AI-driven advancements in unconventional oil and gas.

I. Scope of Submission

The scope includes, but is not limited to, the following scenarios. Any innovative AI applications 

in unconventional oil & gas are encouraged:

1. Smart Drilling & Well Completion

2. Hydraulic Fracturing & Production Optimization

3. Digital Oilfield & Reservoir Digital Twin

4. Energy Equipment & Oilfield Process Digital Twin & Intelligent Diagnostics

5. CCS/CCUS & Low-Carbon Operations with AI

6. Open Track: Other AI + Unconventional Oil & Gas Innovations (e.g., intelligent exploration,

   supply chain optimization, etc.)

II. Competition Schedule

1. Preliminary Screening

• Time: Now – August 31

• Submissions:

  Optional Bonus: ③ 3-minute self-introduction video (can be recorded via phone)

• Process: Written review (expert scoring) to determine finalists.

2. On-Site Finals

• Time: October 23

• Submissions:
  ① PechaKucha Pitch (6′40″)
  ② Poster/Display Board
  ③ Case Evidence Package (PDF/QR code link)

• Evaluation: Real-time scoring by judges + audience; winners announced.

3. Awards & Partnership Matching

• Time: October 22-24

• Winners receive trophies/certificates at the awards ceremony and participate in closed-door

• matchmaking for potential collaborations.

  contact info.

• ECF WeChat Official Account: Thematic posts with project summaries/short videos; 6-month

  post-event follow-up.

• Case Compilation: Selected projects included in "ECF AI Innovations: Unconventional Oil &

  Gas Case Studies."

3. Industry Endorsement: Top solutions recommended to CNPC/Sinopec/CNOOC and key service

   providers for pilot testing, with exclusive matchmaking sessions.

4. Media Coverage:

• In-depth reports by energy/tech/finance media.

• PechaKucha pitches recorded and broadcasted online.
