I. Conference Overview

The Energy China Forum (ECF) 2025 15th Asia-Pacific Shale & Unconventional Resources Conference will be held in Shanghai, China, from October 22 to 24, 2025. This year’s theme is:

“Energy Future - Driven'by Intelligence, Collaborative in Low Carbon”

With a focus on global cutting-edge technological achievements, the conference aims to promote intelligent upgrading, green transition, and multi-scenario integration in the energy sector.

Upholding the principles of:

Balancing global perspective and local expertise
Integrating technological innovation with talent development
Driving transformation through digitalization and low-carbon strategies

The conference will focus on key topics such as shale oil and gas innovation, deep coalbed methane development, the integration of oil & gas with new energy, and offshore unconventional energy development and engineering applications. It aspires to be a globally respected, China-rooted platform for the unconventional energy industry.

To further promote the transformation of technological achievements and the integration of AI with unconventional energy, a series of concurrent activities will take place, including:

Submissions are now open globally for award nominations, challenge entries, and paper contributions. Details are as follows.

III. Call for Submissions

1. The 10th ECF Energy Tech Innovation Award

Award Categories:

Technological Invention: Recognizing original breakthroughs with independent intellectual property that overcome key technical challenges. Includes Grand, First, Second, and Third Prizes.
Science & Technology Progress: Awarding advanced technologies with significant industrial application and socio-economic impact. Includes Grand, First, Second, and Third Prizes.
Technology Innovation: Acknowledging practical innovations that significantly enhance production efficiency and market potential, including products, techniques, designs, materials, and minor inventions. No prize levels specified.

2. AI Empowering Unconventional Resources Challenge & ECF2025 Annual Innovation Tech Showcase

This program will be presented as an integrated competition and showcase event. All participating projects must undergo both preliminary review and live on-site finals.

Finalists will participate in PechaKucha-style lightning presentations and tech showcases during the conference. Winning projects will receive challenge awards and follow-up promotional support.

3. ECF2025 Academic Paper Collection

Selected papers will be invited for oral presentation at the conference. Representative papers will be presented via poster boards. Outstanding papers will be recommended for publication in leading industry journals.

Winners will receive the International Outstanding Paper Award, jointly issued by the Shanghai United Center for Unconventional Energy and the Coordinating Committee for Geoscience Programmes in East and Southeast Asia (CCOP).

Standard Delegate: ¥5800 per person
Student Delegate: ¥1500 per person
